The weather has felt like April in February but the city’s homeless population still needs our help. Despite the relatively mild winter to-date UPO’s Shelter Hotline has been busy helping the homeless, during the numerous Hypothermia Alerts. Also, these record warm temperatures are reason to expect a searing hot summer!
As the seasons officially change, we encourage supporters to donate during the months of March and April to provide comfort items for remaining frigid nights and the sweltering summer months ahead.
The UPO Shelter Hotline is the entry point for assisting DC’s homeless population. In addition to transporting the homeless to shelters, warming sites and cooling stations, we provide water, clothing, blankets, meals, and other comfort items to those in need.
We’re here to help and save lives. Give today and help protect the homeless during extreme weather conditions.
