We participated in Read Across America day at many of our early learning centers. Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program, started by the National Education Association.

March 2, the birthday of cherished children’s author Dr. Seuss, is set aside as a day to celebrate reading and encourage young readers to make reading a daily activity.

Early education remains a foremost priority within the UPO family. Each of our centers uses a national early learning curriculum to specifically focus on early development of language and literacy skills.

Read Across America Day gave the staff an opportunity to share classic stories with the children through the integration of Dr. Seuss themed crafts and activities.

Here’s how we introduced a new generation to the timeless characters created by Dr. Seuss.
