In 1962 United Planning Organization (UPO) was formed to plan, coordinate, and implement human services programs for low-income residents in the nation’s capital. This December, we are proud to celebrate 55 years of service to the residents of Washington, DC.

For more than five decades, UPO has been in the forefront of the war on poverty. We have been innovators, change makers, and advocates for those on the path to self-sufficiency. Over the next 55 days, we will highlight some of our biggest strides, and we invite you to share your memories along the way. Tag us, email us, or use the hashtag #UPO55.
