Weatherization

The Weatherization Training Center (WTC) will offer a full range of competency-based training courses and workshops, designed for individuals interested in developing the technical skills necessary to secure employment in the growing field of residential energy conservation. The primary goal of the WTC is to provide training using cutting-edge technology, with an emphasis on significantly reducing the overall level of energy consumption in residential dwellings. Additionally, the WTC will provide training programs with a focus on improving the health, safety and comfort of home occupants by conducting combustion analysis on gas and oil fired appliances, retrofitting heating systems and providing diagnostic inspections.

Individuals interested in participating in the weatherization training program should contact Reymond Fairfax at 202-526-2644, email rfairfax@upo.org, or visit the UPO Weatherization Training Center at 915 Girard Street NE from 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
