Shelter Plus Care
The Shelter Plus Care program is an integral part of the continuum of care for the homeless in the District of Columbia, operating under a contract with the Community Partnership for the Prevention of Homelessness. The program provides case management and supportive services five days a week to sixteen homeless families recovering from substance abuse and who may also have a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS and are receiving rental assistance for permanent housing from the Partnership. Case management and supportive services include providing to or referring families for health and mental health services, substance abuse recovery services, and life skills training.
