Temporary Summer Position
June 23, 2008 – August 15, 2008

The United Planning Organization is looking for energetic, creative Summer Camp Counselors to develop and lead a 6 weeks summer camp in the Ward 5 and 8 communities during summer 2008. The camp will run Monday through Friday, June 23, 2008 – August 15, 2008 between the hours of 9am – 4:30pm.

HOURLY RATE: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Brief Description: Lead morning academic class sessions; guide afternoon recreation activities, chaperone field trips and guide social/cultural activities for youth in Wards 5 and 8 for youth ages 5-10 years old; assist camp director in maintaining intake forms for program participants; assist with space set-up and breakdown for summer camp activities; implement camp safety standards; assist with outreach and follow-up with parents; other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: College degree or advancing towards a degree and/or experience working with youth in a classroom or camp setting strongly preferred; strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills a must. Note: All camp positions require the ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

This position IS NOT in the collective bargaining unit.
