The United Planning Organization is looking for energetic, creative Summer Camp Director to develop and lead a 6 weeks summer camp in the Ward 5 and 8 communities during summer 2008. The camp will run Monday through Friday, June 23, 2008 August 15, 2008 between the hours of 9am 4:30pm.

HOURLY RATE: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Brief Description: Plan, develop, schedule and implement education, recreation and cultural activities for youth aged 5-10 years old for the UPO summer camps in Wards 5 and 8; develop and distribute a calendar of scheduled activities and events; maintain intake forms for program participants; supervise camp staff and volunteers; submit timesheets for camp staff, oversee space set-up for summer camp, monitor counselor and campers health and safety practices, implement camp safety standards, work closely with host site for high quality program delivery and provide detailed final report within 15 days of the end of the camp; other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in one of the Social Sciences/Education field; experience implementing youth program and/or working with youth in a classroom or camp setting; demonstrated ability to develop a summer curriculum; strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing a must. Note: All camp positions require the ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
