Brief Description: Provide a holistic approach to integrating energy assistance with social service, affordable housing and related programs to help low-income families sustain home ownership build assets and, ultimately, reduce their dependence on energy assistance. Distribute program brochures and related energy materials; sign-up clients and provide other enrollment assistance; implement and assist with activities related to outreach and energy program education, staff events and community presentations sponsored by the program; facilitate community meetings; conduct bi-weekly reports, tracking/monthly evaluation survey forms, and other reports as required; organize community events calendar.
Minimum Qualification: High school diploma or GED, experience working in community social services; good interpersonal skills; public speaking skills and ability to train and be trained; basic computer skills; good customer services skills; knowledgeable of the Wards in the District of Columbia; must be bi-lingual.
This position IS in the collective bargaining unit represented by Communication Workers of America CWA). Any regular employee hired in a bargaining unit position, SHALL as a condition of employment, pay union dues and be a union member or pay amount equal to union dues within 30 days after entrance to UPO. ALL bargaining unit employees that are not paying union dues or an amount equal to union dues within 30 days will be terminated.
