POSITION: Job Readiness Trainer
DEPARTMENT: Asset Development Adult Education & Training Program

SALARY RANGE: $35,000 - $45,000

Brief Description: Facilitate job readiness workshops that focus on the soft and trade specific skills needed to obtain and retain employment. Identify, administer and score standard career assessment instruments; assess customers for vocational aptitude, career strengths, employment readiness based on instruments identified for use, provide one-on-one and group activities, facilitates classes including job search, career coaching sessions, and educational workshops to assist customers in obtaining employment in a specialized trade, assist customers in the development of career development plans, conduct regularly scheduled follow-up meetings with customers, make referral for other supportive services as needed, coordinate with Financial Literacy staff and integrate Financial Literacy training into program curriculum, work in partnership with Case Manager, track customer attendance, develop approaches to customer retention.
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University majoring in Counseling or related field or at least 4 to 8 years direct training experience with similar population; 5 years experience in workforce development and career counseling, 3 years experience working in community-based organizations or similar venue, ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, computer literacy including MS Office and data management systems, ability to work some evenings and weekends.
This position IS in the collective bargaining unit represented by Communication Workers of America CWA). Any regular employee hired in a bargaining unit position, SHALL as a condition of employment, pay union dues and be a union member or pay amount equal to union dues within 30 days after entrance to UPO. ALL bargaining unit employees that are not paying union dues or an amount equal to union dues within 30 days will be terminated.
