Seniors find a purpose by mentoring students in the classroom. 

We have a waiting list of 100 seniors, and 10 educational institutions who want to join the program …and every current partner site has requested additional grandparents!

Each year, we give a $10,000 scholarship to each of 5 outstanding DC high school students, making dreams come true by bringing college within reach. We’ve supported 171 scholars with nearly $1 million since 1990.

Johnson in 1964, CAAs have provided direct support to more than 34 million people in need. UPO is the designated CAA for low-income residents of Washington, DC.
